Sorry - I just found out

Well, considering their track record of intial sculpts to final packaged muck, I'm not expecting it to be very good.

I was excited about the Kill Bill figs... until I saw them. Didn't buy a single one...

(I'm not a NECA fan... I own two figs by them... the Crow boxset and a pewter Pinhead.)

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Yeah I hear what you're saying about the Kill Bill figs. It seems like NECA can be hit or miss sometimes. I wouldn't buy everything from them, but I do own their 18" Pinhead, Crow, Legolas, Aragorn, and one of the demon dogs from Ghostbusters. Hopefully they will continue to get better on the smaller stuff.

They did an excellent job on the 7" serious Jack Sparrow... some of the ones i saw had some room for improvement on the paint apps, but others were perfect. It's better than anything McF put out last year....

I beg to differ from you Jor, but I'm not going to even begin one of those pointless NECA v. McF debates.

All I am saying is that every license I have been excited about, if obtained by NECA, has been a big disappointment for me. I agree the 18" versions are good, but when they're that big, you'd better not fuck them up (as far as their thick paint apps go).

No manufacturer makes a "perfect" figure... I can even find flaws in Kaiyodo stuff (my all-time favorite company as far as quality goes). I am definitely more loyal to McF, as it's what started this craze for me to begin with, with Spawn.

But I wasn't knocking NECA just because it isn't McFarlane. I'm knocking the fact that I've wanted a Bubba Ho-Tep figure, and since NECA got the license, I'm disappointed, because I'm afraid when I see it on the shelf one day, I may pass it up if it looks like garbage... and it does certainly have that potential due to track record.

I don't care WHO makes it... as long as it looks like Bruce, and is a good portrayal of the character.

*shrugs* Sure Kill Bill weren't the greatest, but the POTC, NBC, Halloween box set, and most of the House of 1000 Corpses figures are excellent. No company should be judged on one crap series. If that were the case, I would have lost interest in McToys long ago, as they have had plenty.

    <font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">BWAHAHAHA! Yeah... no shit.

I was bummed when I heard that a no-name company (SEG) got the Alias license... and I got those figs. The likenesses are good, although their heads are slightly too big for their bodies.
